Programmer/Analyst
We are seeking a programmer/analyst who will be responsible for helping make the information systems more effective, primarily through: 1) trouble shooting and solving problems, and 2) developing, writing, testing, and implementing new code. This position will train and work under the guidance of the senior programmer but will report to the department director.
Essential Job Functions:
- Code development will be in the Unibasic language and will interface with the National Business Computers, Inc. (NBCI) ERP system
- Create, develop, and alter programs to address business needs and business problems.
- Create reports and provide information to support organizational analysis and decision-making.
- Test programming changes and new software - both for self and for senior programmer.
- Respond to Help Desk requests where users need help due to problems with programs.
- Assist and perform AIX system administrator duties as required.
- Identify opportunities for making the business more efficient and, upon approval, implement solutions for those opportunities.
- Meet with management, end users, and IS colleagues to plan projects and assess project progression.
Required Skills:
- Experienced in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proficient with AIX (Unix) Operating System
- Experience with Unibasic programming language preferred
- Experience with NBCI ERP system a bonus
OR
- Experience with Business Basic Language or Pick Operating System
Visual Merchandiser
The Visual Merchandiser develops ideas or plans for merchandise displays and window decorations within company showrooms. Assembles and sets up displays, furniture, and/or other products in showroom space while utilizing colors, lights, pictures, and/or other accessories to display the product. Constructs or assembles displays or display components from fabric, glass, paper, or plastic, using hand tools or woodworking power tools.
Essential Job Functions:
- While assisting in trend search and product development, develop and plan commercial displays to entice and appeal to customers by arranging furniture, backdrops, merchandise or other accessories in window, store and showroom displays using prepared sketches; selects themes, lighting, colors, and/or props to be used.
- Install booths, exhibits, displays, carpets, and/or drapes as guided by building floor plan or specifications; assists with seasonal display program in various areas of company properties.
- Construct or assemble displays or display components from fabric, glass, paper, or plastic, using hand tools or woodworking power tools per specifications.
- Place prices or descriptive signs on backdrops, fixtures, merchandise or floor.
- Must be able to travel to Atlanta and Dallas showrooms for extended periods to prepare for bi-annual tradeshows; may be required to travel to other independent show locations as needed.
Skills Requirements:
- Proficient with desktop/laptop computers and in MS Office
- Possess basic carpentry and painting skills
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of visual design experience preferably in the gift and/or home decor industry.
