As we make last-minute preparations, we thought it would be helpful to feature market advice from our seasoned show sales team. Our team members have spent years perfecting the market experience for our customers and staff and are ready to share their expertise.
Why is it important to attend market?
When you visit us in our showroom, our staff has the opportunity to give you an individualized approach to assist you in building your brand with the best balloon and gift products in the world. Not to mention, nothing beats seeing our products in person and touching them. We have exciting and unique substrates incorporated into our products for the upcoming season and it’s best to put your hands on it all for the full experience!
How do you get the most out of your visit?
Sit down and create an action plan, but don’t stress if the plan falls through. There’s a lot happening at market, and things can change quickly. Also, make an appointment! Your sales representative starts planning for your appointment weeks in advance to guarantee you the best experience catered specifically to your business. We can tell you what has sold well, what items are trending, and what some of best deals are in the showroom. The most successful people at market are the ones who make decisions quickly and ask for help when those decisions aren’t so easy. Trust your gut with products, and if all else fails? Come see us for a glass of wine!
What do you need to pack for the shows?
Speaking from experience, this is the wrong time to break in any new shoes. Between the cold January weather bearing down outside and fluctuating temperatures between floors and showrooms inside the market, it’s important to dress in layers. It never hurts to pack a small backpack with a spare pair of shoes, warm jacket, and umbrella. Above all, wear what makes you comfortable.
What are your favorite places to eat near the markets?
Atlanta: As a Georgia-based company, our team knows a little bit about southern hospitality and delicious comfort food! We recommend Two Urban Licks, Ladybird Grove and Mess Hall, and Venkman’s for great live music!
Dallas: When in Texas, you have to indulge in a little Tex-Mex cuisine! Our team recommends Meddlesome Moth, Rodeo Goat, and El Bolero.
Las Vegas: There is no shortage of fun to be had in Las Vegas. Legendary Freemont Street is just around the corner from the Las Vegas Market and there is an abundance of restaurants a short stroll away. Some of our team’s favorites are: Triple George Grill, Park on Fremont, and Mickie Finnz Fish House & Bar.
Keep in mind, restaurants in close proximity to the markets have large crowds and book up quickly. It’s smart to make reservations in advance and use an app like Open Table to search restaurants nearby for availability. burton + BURTON offers complementary meals for our customers on select days in Dallas and Atlanta. Ditch the stress of finding something to eat and come spend time with us!
When all else fails and you have a question about what to expect at the Winter Markets, give us a call! Our sales team would love to make it an enjoyable experience for you, so you can return home to your business refreshed and full of exciting ideas for the new year! Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for gift show updates and information. We hope to see you this January!
